About Us

The Humble Hive began as an idea. An idea that the noble honey bee, tireless in its efforts, deserved more recognition and appreciation.
Under threat by colony collapse disorder (CCD), man-made pesticides, mites, viruses and shrinking foraging areas, the honey bee has seen dramatic declines in the United States over the last 10 years.
It's estimated that close to 80% of the food we eat is either directly or indirectly pollinated by honey bees. Their survival and proliferation is so closely linked to our own, and it deserves our attention.
Eating local honey and supporting your local beekeepers is not only good for your body and soul, but also helps guarantee that our natural food supply is preserved for ourselves and future generations.
Recognizing these needs, we at The Humble Hive use 100% organic hive management methods (no chemicals or pesticides), resulting in 100% all-natural honey. Our honey is gently filtered to remove beeswax and other "undesirables," resulting in a rich, golden honey with its pollen and natural enzymes intact.
We also create products from natural beeswax, including candles, soaps, lotions and more.
As our apiary grows and prospers, we hope to make these "gifts of the hive" available to you and yours!
About the Owner
Our name is, after all, The Humble Hive, so we prefer to talk more about our bees than ourselves.
We are a small, family-owned apiary (that's a "bee yard" for you city folks) located in Spring Hill, Tennessee, just south of Nashville.
The unique climate in Middle Tennessee makes for an extended honey season and typically large crops of surplus honey from our hives. The wondrous variety of wildflowers, fruit trees, herbs and other nectar-producing flora in the region results in one of the most delicious honeys available anywhere in America!
